A Tricky One-Car Garage Demolition and Removal

Demolition projects are not always an easy job; many factors can come into play when tearing a residential or commercial structure down. We recently received a phone call from a customer in Reading, Massachusetts to quote a price for the demolition of a detached, one-car garage. A seemingly ordinary task for a company that specializes in demolitions and dumpster rentals, right? Well, not so much. As it turned out, the garage was located very tightly between a children's playground area, a beautiful tree, and a fence. Yikes!

Not a problem for us, but the customer, having done his homework, had called several other local demolition and waste disposal companies, in addition to us, for quotes on the same job. Apparently, the other contractors wanted to charge additional fees to dismantle the playground area before the garage demolition could even begin. They had insisted that there was not enough area to navigate bobcats and other dismantling equipment. Rubbish, I say!

Our experienced demolition and dismantling team quickly determined that a 20-yard dumpster could be placed at the end of the driveway, and that the bobcat would be able to maneuver within the seemingly cramped quarters. Sure, the job wasn't simple, but we took the time to assess the situation before jumping the gun and completed the job to our new customer's satisfaction and without a hitch!

The above job (one-car garage demo/Reading) belonged to me. We sought 5 bids in total, and they varied not only in cost but in approach. I was told by one company to de-construct, then re-construct the swing set; another told me the same thing about the fence; a 3rd said I would need to reseal the driveway after the anticipated post-job damage – all 3 of which added significant cost to the project. With Quick Disposal, no such hurdles emerged whatsoever. I left for work in the morning and the garage was up, came home and it’s gone, end of story. These guys were amazing, and their last steps were hand sweeping the dust left on the slab, which was above and beyond in my opinion. On time, on budget, courteous and true pros – that’s what comes to mind with Quick Disposal. I won’t hesitate to recommend them, in fact I have many times already and will continue to do so in the future. THANKS QUICK!!!
