We are proud to announce that we recently became a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB). It got me thinking about the BBB vision, mission and core values, and why we meet them. We’ve been successful in our business for over 15 years now and we believe that it's because of our business principles and best practices that match up seamlessly with the core tenants of the BBB.
A lot of our dumpster rental, home cleanout and demolition business comes from word-of-mouth referrals and we’re honored that our friends, family and partners contribute to much of that business. Black Cat Gets Lucky in Interior Demolition
Last week, the Quick Disposal crew performed what seemed to be a routine demolition to a bathroom in Wakefield, MA. It was a complete interior demolition and required a 15-yard dumpster just like any other typical demolition. We tore the bathroom apart, all the way down to the subfloor. The job took just one day. The day after we finished, the homeowner left for a six-day vacation leaving the contractor to rebuild the bathroom.
Seems standard, right? The customer returned home to a new bathroom but there was one thing missing – his loving (indoor) black cat! Questions flew through everyone’s heads; could he somehow have gotten out while the contractor was there? The homeowner called everywhere for the cat, searching outside and waited for his return. When he was just about to give up hope, he heard a quiet meow.
The cats’ meowing grew louder and louder. The homeowner looked and looked for him and finally realized that the beautiful cat had crawled in the subfloor which must have happened when the contractor put the plywood down to get it ready for tile. At the end of the day, it was determined that the cat survived under the floor for 4 entire days!
Luckily, the tile had not been installed or Quick Disposal would have had a search-and-rescue demolition job on our hands!

Dismantling and Cleaning Up an Above-ground Pool
The mild weather has been keeping homeowners motivated to continue with cleaning out and disposing of unwanted debris and trash from their houses and properties.
We recently aided a customer that asked for assistance in dismantling his above-ground pool. Recently, it had been destroyed by fallen trees from the early fall storms. He was tired of looking at the destruction and called for a dumpster rental. As we talked, he also mentioned not having people to help tear the pool apart so he wasn’t quite sure how to dismantle the pool.
Given we do these sorts of pool dismantling projects all over Mass, we suggested a few different options for him. In the end, we brought over a 20 yard dumpster, a bobcat, and a crew of three men to clean up the destroyed pool. The area is all cleaned up and ready for a new pool in the spring!

Demolition and Clean Outs in Wakefield, Beverly, and Boxford MA
The year is coming to an end and we've been busy helping several home owners clean out their newly purchased foreclosed properties in Wakefield, Beverly and Boxford.
Two customers rented 20-yard dumpsters to clean out unwanted debris from the attic all the way down the basement. Our Boxford customer needed a 25-yard dumpster dropped off to do demolition on a few damaged interior rooms that were destroyed by previous owners.
Once we provided rental dumpsters to our customers and they wrapped up their clean outs and demolition, their new properties could finally be called home!

Landlord Dumpster Rental Stress in Wakefield, MA
We recently received a call from a distressed landlord. He needed to rent a dumpster but in a residential area that did not have adequate parking for the dumpster to be dropped off. We ended up providing a "live load" dumpster rental to help him out. A live load dumpster rental is when we bring a truck over with a dumpetsr rental size of your choosing and simply wait while you fill the dumpster. This was the perfect dumpster solution for our customer.
Live loads are perfect when there is either no parking or when you think you need to load the dumpster quickly so no one else fills it (say if we leave it overnight and neighbors have their way).
This particular landlord was in desperate need for a dumpster rental for a clean-out service before a new tenant was moving in. He needed to rent the dumpster and have the property cleaned out in just one day! The previous tenant left all kinds of debris behind.
We talked to him and reassured him that we could do a live load, guiding him through our “Top 10 List” so he would be organized and ready to go when we arrived. Because the driver had to wait with the dumpster for the load, there was a minor additional fee, but it was a worthy solution for another quick and reliable dumpster service, and another happy dumpster customer in Wakefield, MA!

We recently did a demolition and dumpster rental disposal job on a small ranch in Wakefield, MA. Why is this special news for you? Well, the homeowner took every step to be prepared before we began the job. First, he rented a 20- yard dumpster to clean out the attic area of his home, which was perfect because the clutter needs to be cleared before we can efficiently do our job.
Once that was set, we went in and demolished the top section of the home, making it a smooth transition for the construction workers standing by to start building his home's second floor. Businesses and Homeowners are Still Dealing with the Peabody MA, Flooding
Early this week the North Shore was affected by a major rain storm, the combination of heavy rain in a short time span and high tide caused for major flooding. The storm left homeowners and business owners with a mess to sift through. In response, we have created some basic guidelines to follow for any type of after-storm damage.
Rules to Follow for Residential Cleanouts and Commercial Cleanouts after the Storm:
- Clean up fast!
Use fans to help dry out the area that was flooded- Open all windows to help prevent mold growth
- Use a wet/dry vacuum
- Remove all rugs immediately
- Use gloves to avoid getting cut up, touching mold, etc.
- Keep refrigerator doors closed – If you lost power for more than two hours, toss meat/dairy
- Be aware of drinking water – in case of contamination, keep iodine tablets on hand to purify water
- Keep flashlights and batteries in stock at all time

Are your kids all grown up and on their own, but left their mess behind? Is your attic full of junk that you just don’t need anymore? No matter what your reason for a cleanout, there are a few things that you can do to prepare and make your clean-out process a less hateful one!
Top 10 Tips For Your Residential Cleanouts:
- Pick a two-week period of time for your cleanout.
- Schedule family and friends to help you.
- Have an idea of what you want to throw out or make a list.
- Organize each room of your house prior to the cleanout.
- Have family members go through their things prior to the clean out; this can be a good way to start cleaning out your house before you rent a dumpster.
- Clear out all clutter from your garage, attic, basement, closets, cabinets, and storage bins.
- Spearate recycables from other debris.
- Separate metals from other debris.
- Donate items that you have outgrown.
- If an item hasn't been used in over year, and unless it's super special to you, get rid of it!
Preparation and organization are two important factors that will lead to a successful cleanout. And it'll make your project better prepared for when you order a dumpster to rent. Paying for your dumpster to sit outside is not going to get your cleaning done!

Here at Quick Disposal, we sometimes receive some very special types of projects, be they for dumpster services, bobcat rentals, cleanouts, you name it. Just a few weeks ago, we completed a demolition services job in Wakefield, MA. What started off as just any demolition project soon turned out to be just a little bit more.
An Interesting Demolition Project in Wakefield
We got the call. It was a homeowner looking to sell one of his properties. But before the sale could begin, he was forced to demolish a beautiful two-car garage due to property line issues.
The problem? The molding found on the garage could no longer be bought, yet the homeowner was looking to use the exact molding for an upcoming project.
